Cyber Protection Insurance Reaches Individual Consumers
An insurance provider and a major consumer electronics retailer have announced the launch of the first cyber protection insurance product for individuals, available directly in more than one hundred stores across Spain. This initiative represents a significant shift in the insurance market, where such services have traditionally been focused on the corporate sector (more info here {target=“_blank”}).

The product provides coverage against everyday digital risks such as online fraud, identity theft, and the certification of cyber harassment cases (cyberbullying). According to the information released, the insurance will be integrated into the device purchasing process, incorporating digital security as a standard component of everyday technology consumption.
The communication approach emphasizes that users are increasingly exposed to and aware of digital threats. In this context, the insurance emerges as a response to the growing need for specific protection mechanisms to manage these risks. The offering combines technical and legal assistance services with potential financial compensation in the event of an incident.
The introduction of these products into the market demonstrates how digital security is no longer perceived as something distant or exclusively business-related, but rather as part of users’ everyday concerns. In this context, it is likely that, in the near future, these solutions will become a standard component of daily technology use.
