Dr. José Manuel Pavía is Full Professor of Quantitative Methods for Economics and Business. Dr. Pavía develops and applies statistical and machine learning methods across a wide range of areas in the social sciences, always with a strong methodological orientation. With broad and diverse research interests, his work focuses on seeking innovations that narrow the gap between theory and practical applications and that address issues related to the study of inequality, forecasting, statistical (machine) learning, electoral processes, crime detection, public policy evaluation, survey research, sampling, public opinion, ecological inference, experiments, and regional economics.
