Cristina Aybar holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration and a PhD in Economics from the University of Valencia, Spain. Her research interests include the generation of high-quality data for economic and/or sociological analysis. She has participated in an EU-funded project focused on the development of economic indicators for the detection of collusion.
In recent years, Cristina Aybar has focused her research on the identification and proposal of indicators that make it possible to measure and quantify: (i) the quality of economic growth; (ii) regional and national economic progress; (iii) sustainable development; and other key aspects that influence political and economic decision-making, among others. Having appropriate indicators provides a solid basis for evaluating and comparing different dimensions of economic growth and population well-being, which is highly valuable for decision-makers in an increasingly complex and globalized context. Dr. Aybar further enriches her multidisciplinary approach by working with a wide variety of data, including surveys from different sources, such as those periodically conducted by the Centre for Sociological Research (CIS) and surveys produced by the GIPEyOP research group (Research Group on Electoral Processes and Public Opinion), of which she is a member.
