Santiago González

PhD in Systems and Control Engineering, specialized in Industrial Cybersecurity, with more than 25 years of experience in Information Technologies. He has developed a significant part of his professional career within the Secretariat of State for Security, focusing on systems architecture and critical OT infrastructure.

He currently serves as Head of the Advanced Cryptographic Infrastructure Service of the Deputy Directorate General of Communication and Information and Systems for Security (Spanish Ministry of the Interior), where he leads initiatives related to technological security, resilience, and the protection of critical infrastructures.

He has participated in international projects on pentesting and vulnerability analysis of Industrial Control Systems at NATO’s Cyber Defence Centre in Tallinn (CCDCOE), and collaborates with the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence on the Industrial Control Systems Vulnerability Research and Pentesting project.

He is a member of the Critical Infrastructure Experts team at the Industrial Cybersecurity Centre (CCI) and has been a speaker at specialized conferences such as CiberWall and CYBER-LEAGUE. He combines his professional work with teaching at University Training Center of the National Police (CUFPN), the National University of Distance Education (UNED), the University of Salamanca, and CEU San Pablo University, delivering courses in cybersecurity, critical infrastructures, and data protection.
