Priscila Espinosa Adamez (Spain) holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (2014), a Master’s degree in Marketing and Market Research with a specialization in research (2015), and a Master’s degree in Biostatistics (2017). She is currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial Economics at the University of Valencia, with a focus on applied industrial organization and quantitative methods. In addition, she has shared her expertise through teaching in various undergraduate programs, covering areas such as macroeconomics, statistics, and actuarial techniques. She has also taught courses at the master’s level, including Economics, Macroeconomics, and Microeconomics.
In the field of economic research, she has authored articles such as “Are There Too Many Bank Branches in Spain? An Analysis for the Period 1999–2011,” which employs a spatio-temporal Bayesian hierarchical model using a Poisson distribution and the INLA approach. Another article, “An Entropy-Based Machine Learning Algorithm for Combining Macroeconomic Forecasts,” presents a simulation process based on a machine learning approach, testing Ridge, Lasso, and Elastic Net algorithms within a maximum entropy inference framework. She is also the author of “Automation in Regional Economic Synthetic Index Construction with Uncertainty Measurement,” which develops, on the one hand, an interactive application for generating a synthetic indicator through dynamic factor analysis and, on the other hand, applies bootstrap techniques to measure the error associated with prediction. More recently, she has been engaged in research on counterfactual models and their conservatism for measuring the impact of NGEU funds.
It is also worth highlighting her participation in previous research projects such as “Machine Learning Algorithms in Cloud Computing Environments for the Determination of Leakage Risk,” “Analysis of the Economic Situation and Forecasts in the Valencian Community,” and “Development and Maintenance of Macroeconomic Forecasts for the Valencian Economy,” where she worked as a Data Scientist. In addition, she has delivered various presentations at conferences and seminars, including the “X International Istanbul Scientific Research Congress (2022),” the “2nd International Azerbaijan Congress on Life, Social, Health, and Art Science (2022),” the “II Conference on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (2022),” and the “International Conference on the Use of R in Official Statistics – Romania (2021).”
