
Esther García-Domínguez

Esther García-Domínguez was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1996, but she has lived most of her life in Teruel. She graduated in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at the University of Valencia with Special Distinction (2018). She started doing research during the last year of her degree studies through a collaboration grant given by the Spanish Ministry of Education. After that, she obtained her Master's Degree in Research and Intervention in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences with Special Distinction (2019). During her master’s degree studies, she joined José Viña’s laboratory group (Department of Physiology, University of Valencia) through a collaboration grant given by the University of Valencia. Currently, she is a PhD student granted by the Spanish Ministry of Education (FPU fellowship, 2019-2023). Her thesis project, supervised by Prof. José Viña, Prof Mari Carmen Gómez-Cabrera and Dr Cristina Blasco-Lafarga, is focused on the study of interventions aimed at preventing and treating both frailty and cognitive impairment.
She loves spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies include practising gymnastics, athletics, powerlifting and mountain sports, as well as reading, listening to music and playing the cello.
