Team of Synthetic Inorganic Chemistry Applied to DNA Technology and Biology

Welcome to the team of Jorge Gonzalez-Garcia at the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol) of the University of Valencia. Our team is embedded in the Supramolecular Group of the same institution and we develop a multidisciplinary approach at the interface of organic and metal complex synthesis, supramolecular chemistry and biology. We design and develop new molecules with interesting photophysical properties to control and/or visualise biological processes in combination with imaging techniques. In particular, we are interested to unravel the roles of non-canonical nucleic acid structures involved in cancer, aging and neurological diseases.
