Workshop on Exotic Compact Objects and more

The NewFunFiCO Project was chosen for funding within the Horizon-MSCA-2021-SE-01 call. The network has nodes at Aveiro University (Portugal, coordinator), University of Valencia (Spain), Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universitaet Frankfurt Am Main (Germany), Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (Mexico), Universidade Federal do Pará (Brazil) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (China). This project aims to create a multi-connected team with different and complementary scientific expertises - on black holes, neutron stars and exotic compact objects -, their phenomenology - gravitational waves, lensing and astrophysical environments - and the techniques necessary to extract the latter from the former for comparison with observations, including constructing and evolving solutions of non-standard compact objects with numerical methods, building gravitational waves libraries, lensing images and performing data/Bayesian analysis and parameter estimation.

This Workshop on Exotic Compact Objects, Shadows, and Gravitational Waves, intends to bring together experts on experimental and theoretical Astrophysicists to explore the Universe from its most fundamental particle constituents to massive objects that populate our Cosmos. The workshop is particularly focused in providing young Master and PhD researchers state of the art knowledge on Astrophysics, Strong Gravity, Numerical Relativity, Gravitational Wave Astronomy, and Machine Learning methods, with particularly useful courses, to explore signals of new physics in Relativistic Astrophysics, Strong Gravity and Cosmology.

    Meeting policy

The Universitat de València has both formal and informal procedures for the resolution of conflicts arising from non-compliance with this Code of Conduct, and will ensure that those who report an offence are not harmed. The full text of this Code of Conduct and Good Practices can be accessed from the website: www.uv.es/igualtat.

  • Guarantee gender equality in our Institution.
  • To ensure that the University of Valencia is a space free of gender violence.
  • Enable people who graduate from our institution to be agents of social change in this matter, influencing the modification of professional, civic, family and personal behaviors to achieve gender equality in their environment.
  • In addition, in front of the legislative statements, necessarily generic when not ambiguous, the Code of Conduct and Good Practices: It specifies the university action that must be initiated in matters of gender equality in its various fields of action, giving clear guidelines for action. Plus, Explain the behaviors that are not tolerable in the relationship between women and men at our university.
  • The NewFunFiCO meeting is a family friendly meeting. If you are travelling with kids please contact us and we will try to help to the best of our ability.
