- . El Dr. Juan P. Martínez Pastor es Catedrático habilitado del área de Física Aplicada desde 2008 en la Universidad de Valencia y actualmente director del Instituto de Ciencia de los Materiales de la Universidad de Valencia, ICMUV (www.uv.es/icmuv). A lo largo de su carrera científica ha desarrollado estancias postdoctorales en el Laboratorio Europeo de Espectroscopía no lineal (Florencia, Italia) y en l'École Normale Supérieure (París, Francia) durante dos y un año, respectivamente, así como otras estancias cortas en diferentes laboratorios de investigación de la Unión Europea (Universidad Paris VI, Max Planck de Stuttgart, UNIPRESS Varsovia,Universidad Ludwig Maximilians, Imperial College London), además de profesor invitado en la Universidad de Trento (2013, un mes) y de Florencia (2016, un mes) en Italia. Puso en marcha la 'Unidad de Materiales y Dispositivos optoelectrónicos' (UMDO, del ICMUV) en 1999, siendo su principal meta el avance en la Física y Nanotecnología de Semiconductores (III-V, II-VI, III-VI, haluros metálicos de estructura perovskita), principalmente de baja dimensionalidad (pozos cuánticos y semiconductores 2D, puntos cuánticos), sus propiedades ópticas, dinámica de recombinación excitónica, emisión de luz cuántica y aplicaciones (fotónica, nanotecnología, sensores y dispositivos optoelectrónicos), además de investigaciones con otros nanomateriales (óxidos metálicos, nanopartículas metálicas, ), para estas mismas aplicaciones. Los resultados han dado lugar a más de 260 publicaciones en revistas periódicas internacionales JCR, la mayoría en Q1 y bastantes de las más recientes en D1), que acumulan > 9.000 citas. Es de destacar su capacidad de dirección, demostrada a través de hasta 11 proyectos nacionales y varios europeos, siendo coordinador del más reciente, DROP-IT (DRop-on demand flexible Optoelectronics & Photovoltaics by means of Lead-Free halide perovskITes, ver www.drop-it.eu). También es relevante el número de tesis doctorales dirigidas, 20, el apoyo a las carreras de éstos y otros investigadores (en fase postdoctoral), varias patentes y la creación de una empresa de base tecnológica.
