CV Sumari. 6 Sexenios, last finished in 2024 · 69 papers in JCR journals: h-index=34. i10-index=52; Total of citations: 5.288; mean of citations per year in the last 5 years: 337 CV SUMMARY Since 1998 I lead projects funded by National Grants, by the Valencian Community and by the University of Valencia. My group is interested in cell adhesion to extracellular matrices (ECMs) and we study the consequences of their impairment in vivo.We want to better understand how the ECM signal cells, with particular interest in the mechanical signals. Along these years, my group generated and analyzed several gene-targeted mouse strains. As shown in our papers, we have contributed to better understand the function of three proteins: Perlecan, Profilin1 and Fibronectin (FN). Perlecan and FN are among the major ECM components, with an important role during ECM remodeling processes, such as tissue regeneration and cancer. Profilin1 is involved in the assembly of actin filaments. The lack of expression of the three proteins generates embryonic lethal malformations and thus, I worked during many years in aspects of development: bone, brain, heart, somites and blood and lymphatic vessels, using conditional knockout and knockin mice. More recently, with the protein FN, I focused in tissue regeneration (wound healing and skeletal muscle lesions) and cancer. My group is very active establishing collaborations with highly reputed groups with expertise in the aspects that we are studying, as is reflected in our publications..
