Línies d'activitat
- Estimation of vegeation properties from remote sensing data. Since the completion of my PhD (2010) my research activities led to a dedicated toolbox which encompassess state-of-the-art radiative transfer models and biophysical variable retrieval toolboxes. I pioneered on the synergistic methods between machine learning and radiative transfer models. The toolbox keeps on being maintained and expanded. See also: http://artmotoolbox.com/. - Development and maintenance of ARTMO software. Plant Radiative Transfer models (RTMs) have become important tools for the analysis of optical Earth observation data, providing meaningful links between radiometry and environmental applications, such as ecological processes, environment and precision agriculture. However, for the broader community these models are still often perceived as excessively complicated tools and are not always easily accessible. The in-house developed Automated Radiative Transfer Models Operator (ARTMO) Graphic User Interface (GUI) is a software package that provides essential tools for running and inverting a suite of plant RTMs, both at the leaf and at the canopy level. ARTMO facilitates consistent and intuitive user interaction, thereby streamlining model setup, running, storing and spectra output plotting for any kind of optical sensor operating in the visible, near-infrared and shortwave infrared range (400-2500 nm). - . At the University of Valencia I have given several guest lectures within the Masters of Remote Sensing. During my career as post-doctoral researcher I was invited to give tutorials at several International Conferences and summer schools (e.g., at EARSeL, IGARSS, WHISPERS, ESA Land summer school, summer schools within EUFAR/COST actions) on topics related to ARTMO and retrieval of biophysical variables from remote sensing data. Since I am a Ramón y Cajal senior researcher I am affiliated at the Physics department. Since 2019 I teach physics laboratory practicums.
