Policies for Excellence Office

The University of Valencia gives support to this project through the Policies for Excellence Office (OPEX). This is a management unit specialized in strategic planning and it is configured in two technical areas addressed to provide advising and support to government bodies:

  • University Living Labs program: Technical office.
  • Social responsibility and Innovation: Gives technical support to the formulation and monitoring of policies, programmes and institutional plans of action.

Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte Metropolis Network of Excelence

 

VLC/CAMPUS is an initiative jointly promoted by the main research institutions of Valencia city and coordinated by the University of Valencia for the creation of a Campus of International Excellence within this metropolitan area.

VLC/CAMPUS is a metropolitan project that promotes strategic aggregations between universities and other relevant regional institutions to create a "knowledge ecosystem“ through specialization in three main scientific areas (Sustainability, health and ICT).

VLC/CAMPUS provides to Food&HealthLab human and material resources as well as its large community of users.

This living lab has been selected as a good practice of the University of Valencia in the Health Metropolis Network of Excellence of the VLC/CAMPUS. With this network, VLC/CAMPUS wants to contribute to strength a knowledge pole in Health at the European level, and promote regional development and talent sharing from an international perspective.

Fundació Lluís Alcanyís

Lluís Alcanyís Foundation from Valencian Community (FLA) is a non-profit organisation that carries out the care, scientific and research policy of the University of Valencia and offers scientific and technological services and has more than 1000 m2 of clinical and research laboratories to undertake re-search programmes based on state-of-the-art biomedical science and health promotion. FLA is member of different R&D networks at national and international level. The foundation is composed by a multi-disciplinary team of 45 health professionals distributed in a different centres: Dental, Podiatry, Optometry and CUNAFF (Spanish abbreviation of Nutrition, Adapted Physical Activity and Physiotherapy Clinic).

CUNAFF’s activities are grouped around three pillars including nutrition, inclusive gym and physiotherapy. This activities encompasses applied research and the development of projects focussed in to improve the quality of life in the disabled population, by providing health professionals the required skills to early predict and treat an inadequate nutritional status, and increase population awareness about the importance of a balanced diet and adequate physical activity levels. Moreover, it has specific focus in the promoting a balanced diet and adequate nutrition status in all ages and the implementation of good practices in nutrition management in clinical and community settings.

CSIC

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) is the largest public institution dedicated to research in Spain and the third largest in Europe. Belonging to the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through the Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation, its main objective is to develop and promote research that will help bring about scientific and technological progress, and it is prepared to collaborate with Spanish and foreign entities in order to achieve this aim.All the actions of the institution in the Autonomous Community are coordinated from the CSIC Delegation in Valencian Community, which also strengthens relations with the main agents working in the valencian R&D and innovation system.

Parc Científic Universitat de València

The University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV) is an initiative to strengthen ties between the scientific potential of the university and the production system, creating knowledge, encouraging innovation processes, promoting the creation of science and technology based companies, and thereby, contributing to the economic and social development of our environment. The PCUV has a scientific area that includes six research institutes, two centres and a major infrastructure of services and facilities for research; and a business area that currently houses near 100 innovative companies, mainly from the sectors of information and communication technologies (ICT), energy management and biotechnology.

Consejo General de Dietistas Nutricionistas de España

 

The General Council, is the body representing the profession of Dietitian-­Nutritionist and the Official Associations and / or Professionals Dietitian-­Nutritionist of Spain, at the national and international levels; orders, within its competence and in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and laws, professional practice, and defends and protects the interests of professionals and the profession consistent with the interests of society, exercising and resolving disciplinary appeals filed under the terms regulated in its Statutes faculty.

OPAL

The main objective of the Observatory of Graduate Employment and Occupational Guidance (OPAL) is to help graduates of the University of Valencia to find a job according to their qualification. OPAL develops its activities across the following areas: orientation and counseling, training, research and analysis, employment services, and entrepreneurship. OPAL has carried out research, counseling, training, and employment projects funded by regional, national and European funds in cooperation with other agencies and bodies. OPAL has the required experience and capabilities to collaborate with other organizations to achieve goals related to promoting the employment of young graduates.

The IDOCAL is a Research Institute of the University of Valencia created in 2009 by integrating six research Units from several Psychology departments and the Marketing Department. It aims to carry on high quality research in the field of Organizations, work, and employment. It pays special attention to the "interface" between knowledge generation and knowledge transfer and use transfer in the relevant contexts.

The IDOCAL develops an innovative and high‐quality research to better explain and improve labour market processes, quality of working life and organizational development, with the emphasis on human and psychosocial factors. One of the research lines of the Institute focuses on youth entry in the labour market and work socialization of youth.

The analysis of contingent work and job flexibility and its effects on employees health and well-being as well as the study of youth unemployment and under-employment and their effects have also been long standing areas of research. The institute has participated in several European and national funded research projects and has a large international cooperation network.

The Institute has a fruitful cooperation with the OPAL (Observatory of UVEGs graduates entry into the labour Market and with the observatory of Spanish youth entry into the labour Market of the IVIE. Currently a research project on Career adaptability is being carried on in cooperation with the International Research Group on this topic.

EPINUTVLC/Campus. Valencia, International campus of excellence

EPINUT is a research consolidate in 2005 by academics from the faculties of Medicine and Biology of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. The members develop their professional work both in the University and Clinical Care or other agencies under the Ministries of Health and Educaction of the Community of Madrid (Spain). Its research and activities mainly focussed on the Physical Anthropology, Paediatrics, Sport Medicine and Human Nutrition and Dietetic.
