General Instructions

Please read the following general instructions before filling in your Learning Agreement!

  • Most courses at the University of Valencia (UV) are assigned an ECTS value of 6 credits.  Generally, students need to be enrolled in 30 ECTS credits per semester, usually 5-6 modules. We enforce to enroll in 18 ECTS credits as the minimum necessary.
  • It is mandatory to enroll at least 50% of courses in the field of study nominated for. In case they would also like to attend courses outside their nominated field of study, it is only possible on the condition that there are available places. However, permission to participate in courses from other fields of study cannot be guaranteed before the arrival.
  • Incoming students may only take subjects corresponding to the level of official university education that corresponds to them according to the signed mobility agreement, that is, degree or master.
It is not possible to enroll in subjects of different cycles.

Academic coordinators

At the University of Valencia, the different degrees have their own ERASMUS academic coordinator, who are responsible for subject-specific matters.

The Central International Relations Office is only in charge of your administrative registration. Please refer to your academic coordinator for the signature of the Learning Agreement and ALL academic questions regarding:

  • courses
  • course registration
  • Learning Agreement
  • courses taught in English
  • exams

For academic matters you can also contact the Faculty Specific International Relations Offices:

Language Requirements

The home university is responsible for checking and verifying the linguistic requirement as specified in:

https://links.uv.es/incoming/languages

Steps to complete the Learning Agreement

  1. Get the Learning Agreement from your home University and complete the correct contact details of your university. Note that  the contact details for the University of Valencia are:

Erasmus Code: E VALENCI01/  Address: Av. Blasco Ibáñez, 13-46010 Valencia / COUNTRY, Code: Spain, ES

Make sure you always put the appropriate Academic Coordinator at the University of Valencia (and not the International Relations Officer!)

  1. Please open the online course catalogue to find the subjects you want to study.

Complete your Learning Agreement with the chosen courses and make sure you have at least 18 credits per semester and 50% of subjects in the field of study that you have been nominated for. Changes to the chosen courses in the Learning Agreement are possible after arrival in Valencia at any time and on previous arrangement with the Coordinator (“changes to the original Learning Agreement”)

Note that after the implementation of the ESHE Spanish universities are following the 4+1 system (4 = 4 year undergraduate studies + 1 year of postgraduate studies) This means that in many cases European students enrolled at master’s programmes can take subjects at the UV of our 4th year undergraduate programmes, as these courses are equivalent to the 1st year of other European masters, but they are not allowed to take subjects of Official Master Degrees.  This condition doesn’t apply to students nominated for a specific Master according to the Master level bilateral agreement signed between both partner universities.

  1. Make sure your Learning Agreement is signed and sealed by your home university and yourself before sending it by email to the Academic coordinator (not to the International Relations Office). You can also send it to the International Relations Office at the Faculty, Check the list here.
