Press Office

The Press Office informs the media about the activities generated by the University of Valencia which may be newsworthy. It serves all students, teaching staff, administration and service staff, heads of departments, centres and faculties, associations, foundations... of the University.
The results of the research carried out within the institution, the academic, cultural and community events organised by the students and the teaching staff, and the institutional information generated by the University are transferred every day to more than a hundred media (press, radio, television, agencies and Internet). Afterwards, the Office analyses and documents the information published by the media, and makes it public in Press.
The Office  also informs directly thousands of people who are friends or followers of the University of Valencia in the most popular social networks (Facebook and Twitter). The institution has also a YouTube channel and an image distribution service in Flickr.
The journalists of the University update constantly the information part of the institution's website, and maintain a specific news page.
It also put journalists in touch with experts at the University. Therefore, the Office manages an Expert Guide, a database with the names, specialties and availability of each researcher so that they can be consulted by journalists or even participate in radio or television programmes.
Each week, it prepares an electronic newspaper with the university news, which includes articles, interviews, opinion articles... This newspaper (InfoUniversitat) replaces the historic print-based newspaper Nou Dise, which had been printed for 15 years. Past editions of Nou Dise can be consulted online for free in PDF format.
The University of Valencia has an internet TV channel (MediaUni) and an internet radio station (RàdioUniversitat), with regular programmes that broadcast the information of the institution and which include entertainment, music, culture...
Lastly, the Office coordinates the mass email sending service (llista zero), with institutional information for the entire university community.
