Biographical Note

Luz Dary Ramírez Franco holds a PhD in Rule of Law and Global Governance from the University of Salamanca and is a Permanent Lecturer in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia, where she has been carrying out her teaching and research activity since 2021. Her academic career combines research, teaching, internationalisation, and university management, with a particular specialisation in economic policy, comparative analysis, governance, and circular economy. She has also been awarded a six-year research assessment period (sexenio de investigación), recognised from 2025.

Her research activity has been developed within both national and international competitive projects. She is currently a member of the research team of the project Impulsando la Gestión de Activos Inmobiliarios Públicos: un estudio multidisciplinar de ciudades españolas (2025–2029), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities under the 2024 call for Knowledge Generation Projects, within the Non-Oriented Research scheme. She also participates in the European project CULT.T. Culture and Technology (2024–2026), funded by the European Commission, and was previously a member of the project MESOC: Measuring the Social Dimension of Culture (2020–2023), likewise funded by the European Commission and focused on measuring the social impact of culture. In addition, she participated in the INNOVAGEN project (2022–2024), funded by the University of Valencia, aimed at incorporating and updating the gender perspective in university teaching.

In earlier stages of her career, her research profile was consolidated through participation in R&D projects related to economic analysis, productivity, regional heterogeneity, and economic growth, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Education and Science. This trajectory demonstrates sustained research continuity and long-standing integration into competitive research teams.

Her academic profile has been further strengthened through research and teaching stays at prestigious European and Latin American universities, including the University of Nottingham (2017), the University of Liverpool (2016), the University of Würzburg (2011), Universidad EAFIT (2023), the University of Sonora (2018–2019), and the University of Concepción (2018). These stays have contributed to consolidating an international and comparative perspective in her lines of research, as well as stable networks of academic collaboration.

In the field of teaching, she has delivered undergraduate and postgraduate courses in subjects such as applied economics, economic policy, econometrics, circular economy, the structure of tourism markets, and the analysis of socio-labour policies. Her teaching experience is complemented by specific training in teaching innovation and university pedagogy.

In academic management, since 2024 she has served as Secretary of the Coordination of the Teaching Unit in Economic Policy and has participated in several academic committees for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the Faculty of Economics. Overall, her career reflects a solid and internationalised academic profile, committed to research excellence, teaching quality, and institutional contribution.
