Researcher Irene Lacruz is currently undertaking a three-month research stay, from 1 September to 30 November 2026, at the Department of Orthopedagogiek (Special Needs Education and Youth Care) within the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences at the University of Groningen (Netherlands).
The stay is taking place within the Inclusive Education and Special Educational Needs research group, under the supervision of professors Elisa Kupers and Florianne Rademaker.
The main aim of this stay is to further explore the line of research initiated by the INVTEA group regarding the distinctive characteristics and needs of autistic girls and women, incorporating a gender perspective into the study of educational inclusion. Within this framework, collaborative work will focus on designing a new study to investigate gender differences in the educational experiences of autistic pupils in primary education, as well as the role of teachers and their perceived self-efficacy in fostering the inclusion and participation of these students.
