The Universitat de València, first place in Geosciences according to the Best Global Universities ranking
The academic institution is palced in the world Top100 in Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Geosciences, Space Scineces, and Public, Environmental and Work Health.

The Universitat de València (UV) keeps its first place as institution of higher education in the ValencianCommunity and third in Spain according to the research ranking Best Global Universities 2026(published in 2025) which evaluates research excellence and international reputation. Furthermore, is positioned as the 105th in Europe and the 261th of the world.
In the analysis per subjects, the Universitat de València is the best in Spain in Geosciences; and leads among the Valencian universities 23 of the 30 disciplines in the ranking.
To an international level, the Universitat de València is among the 100 bets universities of the world in Food Science and Technology (46th position), Agriculture Sciences (48th position), Geosciences (89th position), Space Sciences (91th position), and Public, Environmental and Work Health (94th position).
In the Food Science and Technology and Agriculture Sciences fields, the University is second place in Spain and an excellent classification in most of the rest computed subjects.
The ranking Best Global Universitiesis elaborated by the magazine U.S. News & World Report to give an answer to the increasing demand of North-American students that are considering enrolling in universities outside their own country. This ranking analysis institutions of more than 104 countries that have been classified based on 13 indicators that measure their academic performance in research and global and regional reputation.
As for the ranking indicators, the Universitat de València places themselves in 79th place in the world for their regional reputation in research. This indicator analyses the academic reputation of the best universities of each region in research during 5 years. Furthermore, the global punctuation of the University is of 60,3 in 2025, slightly inferior to last year, but that confirms the stability of the institution in the international university elite during the last years.
These results reinforce the role of the Universitat de València as a motor in research and advanced formation in the ValencianCommunity and in the Spain as a whole.
