The most rebel Hamlet reaches the Micalet after the success obtained last season.

This spectacle with the text by Valencian author Manuel Molins, shows a new vision on Hamlet. It talks about the tragedy’s complexity suggesting a debate on a permanent current affair. We encounter a Hamlet who batters women, a murderer who takes advantage of the weak and who turns his peoples to the enemy. A ‘hero’ who sacrifices everyone around to accomplish his ‘mission’. With “Hamlet Canalla” there is a stirring of the classical image of one of the greatest theatre characters in history; a messiah who does and gives everything for ‘saving’ his peoples.

Two great actors of the Valencian scene Josep Manel Casany and Ximo Solano under the direction of Joan Peris give life to the characters: Ximo Solano is a current Hamlet and Josep Manel Casany is Ofelia, the actor, Gertrudis, Horacio and the Specter.

Thanks to his work on this show, Josep Manel Casany was a finalist in the 2017 Max of Theater Awards as the leading actor.

With this text by Valencian author Manuel Molins, we get to be in the shoes of the weak: how does Ophelia feel about her batterer, why does Gertrudis behave in such way, what does the Actor think when Hamlet is bothering him....
