From April 9 to 11, the University of Valencia will host the Annual General Meeting of the Utrecht Network, to be held at the emblematic Espai Vives. The event will bring together 46 representatives of this European network, made up of 30 universities from 24 countries, together with its global partners: the AEN (Australia), MAUI (Mid America) and REARI-RJ (Brazil) networks.
The Universitat de València, which has been part of the Utrecht Network since 2015, joined with the aim of strengthening and promoting its internationalization strategy through the multiple initiatives promoted by this network. Since then, it has actively participated in the activities of the different working groups that comprise it and, notably, in the Summer Schools Task Force. These working groups contribute to fostering academic mobility, strengthening research collaboration and promoting responsible global engagement.
During the meeting, two workshops will be led by experts from the University of Bologna and Tilburg University. The first will address the impact of the European Universities Initiative (EUI) on internationalization policies, structures and practices. The second will be a seminar on Knowledge Security, which will discuss how institutions can leverage academic partnerships, research collaborations and political engagement to strengthen global relationships and mitigate security risks such as espionage, sanctions violations and the transfer of sensitive knowledge for military purposes in authoritarian states.
In addition, among the topics to be discussed will be the next steps of the network's communication strategy, a key element to strengthen the visibility and cohesion of the Utrecht Network on the international scene.
ScheduleFrom 9 april 2025 to 11 april 2025. Wednesday, thursday and friday at 08:30 to 17:00.
