The University of Valencia considers external internships an important and necessary methodology for students' learning and preparation, as well as a way to engage with society. For this reason, the Master's in Environmental Contamination, Toxicology, and Health (MCTSA) includes external curricular internships in its curriculum, with a study load of 6 ECTS credits.

What are external internships?

These are training activities undertaken by students and supervised by a tutor from the company or institution where they are conducted, as well as an academic tutor from the University of Valencia. Their main goal is to allow students to apply and complement the knowledge acquired during their academic training while fostering the acquisition of competencies that prepare them for professional activities, enhance their employability, and promote their entrepreneurial skills.

Internship modalities

The management and processing of external internships, both curricular and extracurricular, is carried out by ADEIT, under the direction of the Vice-Rector for Lifelong Learning, Teaching Transformation, and Employment, who oversees the organization, planning, and management of academic internships at the University of Valencia, in coordination with the MCTSA internship coordinator, ensuring proper development and compliance.

There are two types of internships: curricular and extracurricular. Curricular internships are academic activities integrated into the degree's curriculum (undergraduate and postgraduate), corresponding to a module, subject, or course. Extracurricular internships, on the other hand, are those students can voluntarily undertake during their academic training (undergraduate and postgraduate), which have the same objectives as curricular internships but are not part of the curriculum.

The available internship positions are offered on the ADEIT website, accessible through the following link: https://www.adeituv.es/practicas/
