Aims: The specific objectives of this Doctoral Programme are four: - Resolving the needs for specific training of the graduate student in Physiotherapy in the field of ageing. - Facilitating the development and/or participation in research projects that improve the welfare conditions of elderly people. - Transfering the results of the scientific process to their corporation tax. - That Physiotherapist reach the maximum Academic Degree in Universitat de València. The main aim is the development and defence of a doctoral thesis in this field of knowledge, in which process the doctoral student must acquire an extensive professional training in various fields, especially those that require creativity and innovation. It shall provide skills to cope with contexts with little specific information, find the key questions that must be answered to solve a complex problem, design, create, develop and launch new and innovative projects in their field of knowledge, etc.

Description: In a ranking about the importance that by its significance about the discipline Physiotherapy and the high repercusion that the activity and legislative initiatives have supposed, the scales necessarily leans towards the process denominated European Convergence in Higher Education. From a wide point of view its objective is the creation of an European Higher Education Area (EHEA), where the force for change resides in the achievment of a flexible schema and comparable, in which singularities of the studies are respected in each country, but at the same time, these can be easily comparable; for this a credit system that is easily comparable is adopted, establishing as measuring unit the European credit ECTS and the organisation of education in two pillars: degree and postgraduate education (Igual & cols., 2011).
