ERNEST CANO CANO

 

Born in Yecla (Murcia, 1966). He lives in Ernest CanoBenimaclet (Valencia) since he started his university studies. Tenured Professor of the Department of Applied Economics, he is assigned to the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Universitat de València.

Graduate in Economic and Business Sciences and doctorate in Economics from the Universitat de València. In 1990, he started working in the Department of Applied Economics, in the teaching unit of Economic Policies. He is professor in some degrees of the Faculty of Social Sciences, particularly in courses of Labour Economics and Applied Economics in the degree of Labour Relations and Human Resources. He was director of the Master’s Degree in Employment and Human Resources.

His researching activity focuses in the field of Labour Economics, with researches and publications related to the Spanish labour market, job insecurity, gender inequality, management of the workforce, the industry dynamics and territorial development. Member of the Research Unit in Labour Economics and Labour Policy (ECOLAB) of the Universitat de València. Collaborator of the Centre of Sociological Studies on Daily Life and Work (QUIT) of the UAB and the Union Institute of Work, Environment and Health (ISTAS).

He was Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Dean of this faculty from 2012 to date. He forms part of the Faculty Commission since 2006. He is also a member of the Faculty of the Universitat de València since 2001 and of the Board of Professors of the Faculty of Social Sciences since 2000.
