JUAN VICENTE CLIMENT

 

Born in Tavernes de la Valldigna, Juan Vicente Climent Espí holds a degree in Geography and History from the Universitat de València and a Master's degree in Quality Management in the Education System from the Universitat Politècnica de València.

He is a career public employee of the Valencian Government's senior technical body of general administration. He has been in the service of the Public Administration since 1984.

His professional experience in the administration has been developed mainly in the Valencian Government, where he has held various positions related to the management of universities and R&D&I policies, such as the General Subdirectorate for Research and Scientific Organisation and the Research Management Service. In addition, from the Regional Ministry of Education, he participated in the technical working group for the transfer of services from the State Administration to the Valencian Community in the field of Universities 1985.

On the other hand, he has held positions related to Innovation and Entrepreneurship such as the Service for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship, from where he promoted the Innovative Entrepreneur Campus, with the participation of the Valencian public universities, the CSIC and other public research bodies.

He has worked in the Archaeological, Ethnological and Historical Heritage Service, as well as other places in the non-university educational administration.

In the Instrumental Public Sector of the Generalitat, he has occupied the Management, Prospective and Services Service of the Valencian Agency of Evaluation and Prospective, coordinating the actions on the accreditation and evaluation of degrees and university teaching staff, as well as the evaluations of technological, business and R&D&I programmes.

In 1991 he was appointed by the Council as General Secretary of the Regional Ministry of the Environment.

His areas of expertise are human resources management, economic and administrative management, scientific evaluation, innovation and science policy, foresight and public policy, business creation and entrepreneurship, talent development and cultural heritage.
