Biografia

Vicent Cucarella Ramon és Professor Permanent Laboral al Departament de Filologia Anglesa i Alemanya de la Universitat de València. És Llicenciat en Filologia Anglesa i Doctor en Filologia Anglesa (2017) amb una tesi doctoral sobre literatura afroestatunidenca. La seua recerca se centra en la literatura dels Estats Units i Canadà amb especial èmfasi en la literatura afroestatunidenca i la literatura afrocanadenca així com en la literatura afrodiaspòrica a través de l'Atlàntic Negre. Ha publicat articles a revistes nacionals i internacionals, així com capítols de llibre, sobre autors i autores afronord-americans com Zora Neale Hurston, Toni Morrison, Richard Wright, Langston Hughes, Jesmyn Ward, Wayde Compton, David Chariandy o Esi Edugyan, entre altres. És autor del llibre Sacred Femininity and the Politics of Affect in African American Women's Fiction (2018) així com de l'edició crítica del volum abolicionista contra l'esclavitud al Canadà The Refugee: Narrative of Fugitive Slaves in Canada (2021) de Benjamin Drew. Forma part del grup de recerca "(Un)Housing: Dwelling, Materiality and the Self in American Literature" (PID2020-115172GB-I00) del MINECO i és també membre del projecte "Les literatures (trans)ètniques nord-americanes en un context global: Representacions, Transformacions i Resistències" (GC/2019/114), i dels grups "British and American Transatlantic Women Writers" (BATWoW, GIUV2013-083) i CULIVIAN (GIUV2020-486), així com del grup d'innovació educativa NAPCED.
