Biografia

My academic interests are focused on how reading in digital formats influences reading comprehension. Within this topic, I have focused mainly on 1) differences on reading comprehension depending on reading media (print vs. digital), 2) how habitual reading (in print or digital) may influence the development of comprehension and reading motivation in children, and 3) how interruptions (e.g., multitasking) can influence the reading process and self-regulation (whether in single or multiple documents). On the pursue of my research goals, I have had the opportunity to develop skills in experimental research, longitudinal designs with large databases, review and meta-analytical studies, process-based data (e.g., eye-tracking), and digital platforms (in collaboration with private companies). At the same time, I have developed statistical knowledge regarding the use of software’s such as SPSS, RStudio, and Mplus, and I have carried out different types of analyses, including linear mixed models, structural equation modeling, factorial analyses, (random-intercept) cross-lagged panel models, and latent profile analyses. Likewise, in all my publications I contribute to open science by sharing materials, data, and scripts.
