Born in Ontinyent. He is tenured professor of Financial Economics and Accounting at the Faculty of Economics. Doctor in Economic and Business Sciences from the Universitat de València, awarded with the Extraordinary Doctoral Award.
Regarding research, he has conducted and participated in various competitive research projects, carrying out exchanges of knowledge with public and private entities. Gandía is author of many articles in indexed journals (JCR, SCOPUS) and various research monographies in institutions as IVIE, CNMV or AECA. In terms of productivity and impact, the Spanish Journal of Financial and Accounting ranked him in position 26 on its list of 45 “Professors active in Accounting Research (PAIC)”. He has three periods of six years on research.
With respect to his teaching activity, has given several subjects in different undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees at the Faculty of Economics. He has conducted several educational innovation projects, and is responsible for a Consolidated Group of Teaching Innovation. He has four periods of five years on teaching. He was also Director of the Department of Accounting (2009-2012), member of the Constitutional Committee (2009-2013), member of the Commitee for Course Programming of the Degree of Business Management and Administration and the Commitee for Course Programming of the Master's Degree in Accounting, Auditing and Management Control, Delegate for the Management of the University Centre EDEM (2012-present) and since the last November University election, once again, member of the Senate.
