Rafael Crespo García was born in Valencia in 1953 and he entered Universidad de Valencia in 1971. He has been graduated in 1976 in Science, Mathematics section, first class qualified. Later this year he has been part of the Department of Function Theory and Functional Equations, actually Mathematic Analysis, as assistant professor. He has got his doctoral studies in 1981 with the best grade, and he has obtained position of tenured professor in 1984.
His research, based on his doctoral thesis, has approached to the field of Mathematic Analysis, particularly applications of Topology and infinite-dimensional Algebra to the study of spaces of sequences with vector spaces or with values in topological vector spaces locally convex.
He has given classes during the last 38 years in the Pharmacy, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics degrees and various engineering. He is lecturer since his continuously creation in La Nau Gran Programm of the Universitat de València (UV).
His relation with the secondary education has been the primary focus of his academic career. Delegate in university counselling centres, secretary and chairperson of the tribunals of admission test for the university until 2000 and coordinator of the tests for the admission tests for the university on behalf of Universitat de València. He takes part also in tibunals of admission for over 25 years people since 1990.
As manager he has been employed in positions of secretary and director of his department, vice-dean of the Faculty of Mathematic Science of the UV and as dean there, position that he practises sinde 2005 to the present. He has been chairperson of Deans Conference of Mathematics of the State. He is elected member of the Senate of the UV since 2005.
He has participated, as chairperson of elaboration and redaction of study program of Mathematics degree, being external evaluator of the National Quality Plan of the Universities and of the National Quality Agency.
In recent years, along with his management, he has worked in Mathematics Divulgation and Promotion. He is member of Spanish Mathematics Society, forming part of his Governing Board and he has led his bulletin “En Breve” (Shortly) and forming part of his Information Commission.
Since 2007 he instigates and coordinates ESTALMAT Incentive Program of the mathematic talent for young people between 12 and 17 years old, in the Autonomous Community of Valencia, leading a group over thirty teachers of secondary education and university.
