Dr. Julio Cortijo Gimeno

Julio Cortijo Gimeno is professor of Pharmacology department in the Faculty of Medicine and Denistry of Universitat de València. As lecturer he gives classes in the subjects of “general pharmacology of organs and systems”, “clinic pharmacology” and “pharmacoepidemiology” in Medicine degree; and “airways inflammation” in Investigation and Rational Medicine Use in the university master. His scientific task has been awarded with some prizes like Galien prize for Pharmacology Investigation, University-Society Cooperation prize, or Upjohn-Spanish Pharmacology Society prize, among other things. He is member of Spanish Pharmacology Society, of Spanish Respiratory Pathology Society and of the British Pharmacological Society, as well as academic corresponsal of the Medicine Academy of Valencia and of the National Pharmacy Academy. Since 2003 he is head of Teaching and Research Unity in the General Hospital Consorcium and, since 2007, manager of General Hospital Researching Foundation.
