The Lluís Alcanyís Foundation is a socio-health foundation that manages the Dental Clinic, Podiatric Clinic, Optometry Unit, Nutrition Clinic, CUNAF Physical Activity and Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy Clinic of the Universitat de València that develops health care training activities related to the learning process of students of the University, as well as research related to its field of activity.

The Foundation is under the legislation of the Valencian Government and under its protection (article 1 of the Statutes of the Foundation). The Lluís Alcanyís Foundation is exempt of lucrative purposes (article 2 of the Statutes of the Foundation).

The name of the Foundation is dedicated to Lluís Alcanyís, who was a Valencian poet and doctor born in Xàtiva around 1440. (Coming from a convert Jewish family, he occupies the first Medicine Chair in the recent founded Universitat de València. Almost nothing has left of his literary activity, for example, “Regimen preservatiu e curatiu de la pestilencia, compost per mestre Lluis Alcanys mestre en medecina”, a series of orders to prevent and cure pestilence. The Inquisition established by the Catholic Monarchs accused him and his wife for practising Judaism a few years earlier. They both died burned in the fire in 1506).

In this website you can find information about the aims and objectives of the foundation, as well as the composition of its government organisms.
