The joint committee, among others, has the following functions:

• To propose the appointment or dismissal of the Chair’s director to the principal.
• To approve the annual programme of the Chair with details of the activities to be carried out.
• To propose, to the university or entity, if appropriate, the signing of possible collaboration agreements between the Chair and other entities that favour the achievement of its strategic objectives.
• To encourage general communication between all parties at all times, and resolve any disputes immediately, where possible, or otherwise request the intervention of the appropriate officials.
• To approve the budget and the spending of the Chair.
• To monitor and evaluate the initiatives and activities carried out for the development of the annual programme, and to approve, if necessary, the annual report of activities.
