This is the first page of a web about Educational Assessment created in the Mètodes d' Investigació i Diagnòstic en l'Educació ("Educational Research and Assessment Methods") Departmentof the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciencies within the University of València (Spain.)

This page is runned by professor Ricard Marí, helped by other professors of the Department and some students.

The starting point of our concept of Educational Assessment is the belief that assessment/diagnostic should be part of the teaching-learning process because we intend to change and improve education. Socio-educative reality itself asks for this belief, which leads to two conclusions: firstly, traditional assessment models based on deficiencies should be left behind because they only deal with some aspects of the educational object; and secondly, a new assessment model based on the complexity of the educational object should be found.  This second conclusion implies the creation of a new educational assessment paradigm and new epistemological and methodological research.

To achieve this goal, it is necessary to do research on the topic and to facilitate communication between researchers and professionals, so that it would be possible to make progress in the theoretical and methodological development of educational assessment.

This page has been created as the means of intercommunication between educational assessment students, professionals and researchers in order to develop and improve educational assessment. This is our way of contributing to the solving of the problems faced by professionals during their diagnostic research.
