STYLE SHEET FOR THE EDITION
OF VOL. 15 OF INTERLINGÜÍSTICA


           1. Contributors must submit one hard copy of their contributions plus a version on diskette (previously scanned for viruses) to the Organising Committee the moment before the paper is delivered.

           2. The editors will work on hard copies for publication.

           3. Length: 10 pages maximum for the papers; 15 pages maximum for the communications, footnotes, tables, figures, images and bibliography included. Please include page numbers in the printed version. Do not include page numbers in the computer version.

           4. Word processor: Microsoft Word for Windows.

           5. Document format: A4 (210 x 297 mm).

           6. Margin:

    Top: 3cms

    Bottom: 3cms

    Left: 3cms

    Right: 3cms

           7. Font size: Times New Roman 11 points for the text and references. Times New Roman 10 points for footnotes, large quotations separated from the main body of the text and examples.

           8. Line-spacing: single line-spacing (for text, footnotes and references). Please do not leave any extra space between paragraphs. The first line of each paragraph will be indented. No indentation in quotations separated from the main body of the text. Only a single must be left between words.

           9. Alignment: Justified.

           10. Images, figures and tables: should be included in the hard copy, inserted at the appropriate place (making sure their placement does not result in extra-short or extra-long pages), TIFF or EPS format, and 300 ppp resolution.

           11. Title of contribution: Main title must be on line 1, in bold and capital letters, centered, no final full stop, no quotation marks, leaving 1 line space between the main title and the author's name.

           12. Name of contributor/s: The author's name must be after 1 line space (right-hand side). Affiliation (non-bracketed) must be included in the following line. Both the author's name and affiliation in small capitals. Leave 2 extra space lines before the main text.

           13. Headings and subheadings: Subheadings for the sections of the article must be numbered in Arabic numerals, beginning in number 1. Please do not mix them with Roman numerals, capital letters or the like. The Reference section at the end of the article will not be numbered.
1. Bold type and unindented, lower case. Leave one extra space before and after the previous and following paragraphs. No full stop.
1.1. Subheadings in bold type, unindented, lower case. Do not leave any extra spaces if it goes immediately after the line of 1. No full stop
1.1.1. Further subheadings in bold type, unindented, lower case. Do not leave any extra spaces if it goes immediately after the line of 1.1. No full stop

           14. Examples: They must be numbered correlatively and in rounded characters-(1), (2)...-, font size 10 points and in italics. If the example is independent from the text, write final full stop.
(1) John ate here yesterday.

           15. Special terms:

    Metalinguistic: italics.

    Words in different languages: italics.

    Quotations in a different language (one sentence or an extract) inserted in the body of the text, in a separate paragraph or a footnote: rounded characters. If the quotation is in a separate paragraph, please do not include quotation marks. Include them in the rest of cases.


Text quotations:

           16. Short (no more than 3 lines): they should be included, in quotation marks (""), in the body of the text Font size 11 points.

           …coincidimos con la idea de que "son cláusulas biactanciales, con los dos participantes que exige una relación transitiva" (Mª A. MARTÍNEZ LINARES 1998: 137).

           17. Long (more than 3 lines): must appear separately, beginning a new line with a 1.25 left-sided indentation from the 1st line. Font size 10. Do not indent in the beginning of the paragraph. Do not leave any extra spaces between the main text and the quotation, nor between the quotation and the following line. Example:
           Ya lo apuntó R. RODRÍGUEZ FERRÁNDIZ (1998: 245):
           Y en cuanto al CLG, Saussure rechazó la posibilidad que se abría en los Anagramas, y que allí mismo se presentaba muy complicada: la de una consecutividad (una linealidad sub-sígnica) en la lengua que recaería en los dífonos, a los que habría que otorgar alguna entidad lingüística a medio camino entre el morfema y el fonema en tanto proyectos-de-signos, "proformas" en trance de recomponerse anagramáticamente.

           The author of the quotation may be equally included at the end of the quotation between brackets (font size 11 points):
           en trance de recomponerse anagramáticamente. (R. RODRÍGUEZ FERRÁNDIZ 1998: 245). [Note: Full-stop at the end of the body of quotation and after the author's citation].
           Long quotations will neither begin nor end in dots (…). However, they may start with lower case.

Bibliographical references:

           18. In the body of the text:
           INITIAL OF NAME. SURNAME/S (year: page/s) [notice: initial and surname/s: small capitals]:
           A. BELLO ([1847]1981: 763)
           When the reference comprises a whole book, article, etc. and not a specific page, colon and page numbers are ommitted:

           As it was already indicated (M. ALVAR EZQUERRA 1991: 35).
           as M. ALVAR EZQUERRA (1991: 35) indicates
           "nos parece una idea poco acertada" (G. HAENSCH y R. WERNER 1993: 18)
           this was the repeated idea in the book (M. ALVAR EZQUERRA 1991).

           19. At the end of the text, in the reference section (if included):
           SURNAME/S, FULL NAME, Title of Book, Place of publication, Publishing House, Year.
           SURNAME/S, FULL NAME, "Title of article or chapter", in AUTHOR'S / EDITOR'S SURNAME/S, INITIAL, Title of Book, Place of publication, Publising House, Year, Pages.
           SURNAME/S, FULL NAME, "Title of article", Title of periodical / journal, Volume, Year, Pages.

           Bibliographical references must not be included in footnotes. All references of quotations in the text (apart from others) must be included in the reference or bibliography section at the end.

Further indications:

           20. "" will be used in the text and quotation of articles. Should you need to use other quotation marks within a quoted text, you will use "" and within these, use: ''.

           21. Use - at the beginning and end of parenthetical comments. The one at the end is not used if the comment ends in a full stop.

           22. Do not use bold and underlined types in the body of the text.

           23. Final suggestion: if the text submitted does not follow this style sheet's indications, the text will be returned to the author for further correction and re-submission.
