IDEOLOGÍA POLÍTICA DE LOS JUECES
José Juan Toharia
Universidad Autónoma de Madrid
RESUMEN
La Justicia la administran personas, y éstas tienen,
inevitablemente, ideas, creencias, valores.
ABSTRACT
Because justice is administered by people who have
beliefs and values, it is impossible to guarantee judicial behavior
that is purely objetive and neutral. There are two
opposing ways of insuring that justice is imparted without ideological bias.
Each represents a juridical family: the Common Law and the Roman Law traditions. The former creates a fundamental role for
judges and attempts to control their biases by making them explicit. In
contrast, in the latter the ideology of judges is a taboo question, and
juridical laws play the essential role in the administration of justice. The
study of the political ideology of Spanish judges indicates that they may be
distributed along a left-rigth continuum in a manner
analogous to the Spanish population.

EL CONTEXTO CULTURAL DEL TERRORISMO POLÍTICO
L.Weinberg - W.Eubank
ABSTRACT
The argument pursued in this paper is that
contemporary terrorism manifests itself in two distinct forms.
The first, of European origin, is
a type of political violence directed against specific individuals based on the
deeds they have allegedly committed or on the roles they play, or are thougt to play, in some organization. The second,
characteristic of Asia, Africa and the Middle East, is exemplified by violent
attacks carried out against groups of people because they belong to some
despised category in the population. The two approaches to terrorism are
explained in terms of differences between modern individualistic and
traditional collectivist cultures. An analysis of a data collection (ITERATE)
of international terrorist attacks support the general argument.

PERCEPCIÓN Y EVALUACIÓN DE ESTÍMULOS POLÍTICOS:
INFLUENCIA SOBRE LA CONDUCTA DE VOTO
T.Braña-J.M.Sabucedo-C.Arce
ABSTRACT
The main goal of this research was to investigate the perception that
voters and non voters maintain on the general political sphere, in addition to
the perception and evaluation they make on the institutions, groups, and figures
of the political field. With this purpose, proximity judgements between socially
relevant stimuli pairs were performed, in addition to an evaluation of such
political stimuli across a set of bipolar scales. Firstly, the results showed
the stability of the emerged dimensions in a previous study (Braña, Arce y Sabucedo,
1990). Secondly, the politics stimuli and the scales differentially weigthed by voters and non voters could be detected.
