Since 1985, the Department for Cultural Heritage Conservation
of Universitat de Valčncia has worked hard in order to
recover, study, catalogue, conserve, restore, and disseminate
the university's art assets. These goals were reinforced by
the implementation of the Thesaurus project on the occasion of
the university's five hundredth anniversary and the cultural
heritage thematic exhibitions held.
As from 2003, taking into account the guidelines for
preservation and study of the university’s art goods, the main
heritage collections were catalogued and a procedure was put
forward to facilitate classification, inventory, analysis, and
conservation, using new tools that allow to optimise the
management of the highly valuable and heterogeneous set of
works.
