Participation of the AEMES research group in the IX Meeting of Tax Law Professors in Toledo regarding current challenges of the tax system.

Members of the AEMES research group actively participated in the IX Meeting of Financial and Tax Law Professors. This conference was held in Toledo on October 2nd and 3rd, 2025. Attendance was made possible thanks to the funding received through the TAXEMPRESAXXI research project. Thus, the group's presence in the most relevant academic forums of the discipline has been strengthened.

A national reference forum

The meeting, organized by the Network of Financial and Tax Law Professors and the International Center for Fiscal Studies of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, followed the previous edition held in Seville. The Convent of San Pedro Mártir, home of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences, served as the setting for the debate on the current challenges of the tax system.

During the two days, researchers addressed four major current themes:

• The escape from Tax Law and its implications.
• The multilevel protection of taxpayers' rights in Europe.
• The impact of new technologies on modern taxation.
• The role of scientific journals and publications in the academic career and the dissemination of results.

The meeting allowed for a high-level scientific exchange characterized by academic rigour. It also established Toledo as a key meeting point for coexistence and legal debate among specialists in the sector.
