INFORMATION ON INTERNSHIP GROUPS

All students will be placed in a single group of 56 places for all subjects, except for the Internship and Master's Thesis (TFM) subjects.

For the 7 initial, theoretical subjects, teaching will take place in synchronous online mode (live and not recorded). The Internship subject will be carried out in person, and the Master's Thesis will be carried out under a model of individualised supervision.

Enrolment for the Internship and the Master's Thesis (TFM) is linked to one of the 8 universities that deliver the programme. Of the 56 places available on enrolment, each university will be allocated a group with 7 places for the Internship and the TFM.

For enrolment and the assignment of students, 8 groups will be created, each with 7 places, so that once a university's group is full it will be closed. Enrolment will be carried out according to the mark obtained in the Master's admission scoring process.

Internship

Once students have enrolled and been assigned to a specific university, each student may apply for one of the following options: selecting a place from the list offered by the Master's programme, or the self-arranged internship ("Autopracticum") route.

Selecting an internship offered by the Master's programme:

Each university will offer a list of institutions and centres where the internship may be carried out. These are institutions and centres that hold an agreement with the corresponding university.

Each student may only apply for the places offered by the university to which they are assigned. The order of selection will be determined by the admission scoring process.

Self-arranged internship ("Autopracticum"):

This is a route in which the student proposes a centre at which to carry out the internship.

This route may be of interest to those who have difficulty adapting to the set schedule, or who face difficulties travelling for any reason, including being assigned, through enrolment, to a university other than their place of residence.

The requirements that an internship requested under the Autopracticum route must meet are as follows: it must be a healthcare centre (not a social-healthcare centre); the person acting as internship supervisor must hold a Social Work qualification and work as a social worker at the institution, and must have a minimum of 4 years' experience as a healthcare social worker. The Master's Academic Committee will review the proposal and either approve or reject it.

At the start of the academic year, information will be provided on the internships offered by the universities, the deadlines for submitting Autopracticum applications, procedures, etc., and an information session will be held for students. The internship must be carried out in person and, without exception, within the period set out in the Master's calendar (see https://www.uv.es/mtsasanitario).

Recognition of credits for the Internship subject

Those who are working as social workers in the healthcare field may apply for recognition of credits for this subject on the basis of professional experience.

This route is governed by the criteria set out in the Master's Verification Report, which state that credit recognition applies solely and exclusively to the Internship subject (9 credits), on the basis of accredited work experience in Social Work in the healthcare field. Recognition on the basis of work experience will be granted from 4 years of accredited work experience in Social Work in the healthcare field onwards.

Other relevant information regarding the Internship

Under the External Academic Internship Regulations of the Universitat de València (the coordinating university of the Master's programme), the following requirements are established for undertaking the internship (Article 10):

Not holding any contractual relationship with the company or organisation at which the internship is to be carried out, unless expressly authorised by the Centre Internship Committee.

Not being related, up to the third degree of kinship, to those responsible for the company's or organisation's management bodies, or to the internship supervisors, unless expressly authorised by the Centre Internship Committee.

In cases where the external internship involves regular contact with minors, in compliance with Law 26/2015 of 28 July on the Amendment of the Child and Adolescent Protection System, the student must, without exception, provide, when requested, a negative certificate from the Central Register of Sex Offenders issued by the Ministry of Justice.
