On Wednesday, 22 November, from 10:00am to 2:00pm the Forum for Peace –the UV Against War organised by the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Office of the Vice-Principal for Sustainability, Cooperation and Healthy Life.
At the UV, we reject inflictedviolence, the forced displacement of people and the massacre of populations, which go against the fundamental values of humanity. We strongly reject ALL acts of war that violate human rights.
Human dignity is only possible through the defence of human rights, peace and the rejection of war. Forgetting this fundamental value leads to destruction, violence and irreparable cruelty. It dehumanises us. No one can remain ignorant of this reality. We cannot remain passive in the face of the extermination of other human beings, as if it had nothing to do with us. Silence and indifference are complicity. Public universities are institutions that promote education and research for the common good and the culture of peace. We have a great responsibility and we must face it head on.
For all these reasons, in collaboration with the Asamblea Popular València Contra las Guerras, we ask the university community –teachers, students and administrative and service staff – to mobilise and participate in the activities of the University Forum for Peace, which will be held on Wednesday, 22 November, from 10:00am to 2:00pm, in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
