Born in Valencia, Spain, in 1948. I am currently
Professor Emeritus at the
Departamento de Didàctica de la Matemàtica of the Universitat de València Estudi
General, where I have been working since 1975.
In 2008 and 2009 I also worked as a Researcher at the Departamento
de Matemática Educativa of the CINVESTAV of IPN,
Mexico, DF. Since 2006-2007 I am visiting professor at the
Departamento de Didáctica de la Matemática de la
Universidad de Granada. I am a member of the Executive Committee of
the International Study Group on the relations between
History and Pedagogy of Mathematics (HPM), an
affiliate of the International Committee on Mathematical
Instruction (ICMI), for the period 2024-2028. I am honorary president of the Societat d’Educació
Matemàtica de la Comunitat Valenciana “al-Khwārizmī”,
having been its president from its founding in 1993 until
2006. I was director of the Colegio Mayor “Luis Vives” from november 1998 to september 2007. Click here to see a list of the rock, jazz & other musics events I organised there.
