SESSION-PAPERS' PUBLICATION IN THE PROCEEDINGS. PROCEDURE FOR THE PRESENTATION OF ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPTS | ||
The Deadline for submitting the full manuscript for the conference proceedings is November 27th 2009. The languages of the Congress will be all the official languages of Spain as well as Portuguese, French, Italian, English and German. Papers will be sent to the address of the secretary of the Congress (Dept. de Prehistňria i Arqueologia, Facultat de Geografia i Histňria, Avgda. Blasco Ibáńez, 28, 46010-Valčncia) or given during the days of the Meeting to any of the members of the Organizing Committee or Collaborators. The submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee, which will decide whether the paper or poster will be accepted, rejected or accepted after revisions for the publication. All authors will be notified about the acceptance or rejection of their submissions after the review. Formats The original manuscripts will have to be sent in computer support (CD, DVD), attaching a copy printed in paper. The papers must be organized in 3 different files: - one with the text and bibliography (following the procedure that are described later) and the personal information of the authors (name and surnames, filiation and address), - other one with the captions of the figures - and other one with the figures and the artwork indicating their format (TIFF, JPG, Doc). The original manuscripts will have a maximum extension of 9000 words including references, and a maximum of 12 figures (photos, pictures or drawings). In the first page of the document will show the title of the paper, five key words and two abstracts of 100 words in length, one in the same language of the original text and the other one in another of the officials languages of the Meeting. The name, the address and the affiliation of the authors and the captions of the figures must be presented on a separate page each one. Notes and Acknowledgments will be placed at the end of the main text document. Avoid their use altogether, so far as possible; otherwise keep them as few and concise as possible. The graphical files (images, illustrations and artwork) must have a minimal resolution of 4 Megapixels (e.g. 9X12 cm to 300 ppp) and be arranged according to its appearance in the text; the figures and images will be submitted in TIFF or JPG. The author will be able to indicate, at the end of the work, the date of ending of the same one. Typography, abbreviations and references Texts will have to be organized in epigraphs, without numbering, and will be able to include section headings using the following typography: CAPITAL BOLDFACE: principal terms of reference REGULAR CAPITAL LETTER: main epigraph ITALICS CAPITAL LETTER: secondary epigraph Words in a language different from that of the text will be written italicized, as well as the textual appointments of other authors (do not use quotation marks). The article that precedes an archaeological toponym will go in capital letter (e.g. El Carambolo), except when 'al' or 'del' have to be used (ONLY for Spanish). The article that precedes the geographical toponyms will go in small letter (e.g. the Contestania; the Low Guadalquivir; the Atlantis). The cardinal points will be written abridged, in capital letters and without point behind. The terms m, cm, km, has, - always in singular - they will be abridged and without point behind. Numbers Spell out numbers one to ten; express all numbers greater than ten with Arabic numerals. Up to 10.000 number will be written without point (e.g. 2000). If it is a question of enumerations or inventories, all the numbers will be expressed in numbers. Dates in centuries will be written abridged Siglo = s. or Siglos =ss. (ONLY for Spanish). It will be necesary to indicated B.C. only when it should be pertinent to avoid the iteration. The references to all the illustrations will be indicated following this convention: (fig. 1), (fig. 1,3), (fig. 1, 3; fig. 2,2). References of Classic authors will be done using abbreviations and separating paragraphs with commas (Estr. III, 7, 32); (Plin. Nat. XXI, 216). The bibliographical references inthe text will go in brackets with the surname of the author or authors, not capitalized, by the year of the publication without comma between them. e.g. (Bonsor 1898) (Fletcher, Pla 1954), (Jordá et al. 1961). Et al. will be in use when the authors are 3 or more, but the names will be spelled completely in the References. The list of References will go at the end of main text following these conventions: Books: BONET, H. (1995): El Tossal de Sant Miquel. The authors accept to correct the proofs in a term not superior to 10 days from the receipt of the same ones, avoiding to introduce significant or additional variations to the already printed text. They will have right to receive, with no charge, a copy of the proceedings and a copy of his/her paper in pdf format. | ||
