
Between 30 June and 9 July 2025 the course ‘Prevention of addiction, with and without substances, based on evidence’ took place, and it was taught by Dr Víctor José Villanueva Blasco, researcher and director of the Master's Degree in Prevention of Drug Addiction and other Addictive Behaviors of the Universidad Internacional de Valencia (VIU).
The course, of 15 hours of duration, was aimed at professionals of the educational, social and sanitary fields, and addressed prevention from a global perspective, supported by quality criteria and good practices. Throughout 4 days, efficient programmes in school, family, community and environmental contexts were analysed, as well as strategies to design and implement preventive interventions based on scientific evidence.
The activity ended with a collective reflexion on the role of the professionals in prevention and the current existent challenges when facing addictions, with or without substances.
