Through the months of October and November the preparatory sessions for the volunteers that will collaborate in making the census for homeless people in the Valencian Community took place.

Objetives: Carry out essential training to establish a diagnosis that illustrates the magnitude of homelessness through Homeless Count from a participatory methodology in the municipalities that want to participate with more than 50,000 inhabitants in the Valencian Community.

Contents:

• Provide a space of synergy from the reality of homelessness in the neighbouring territory.
• Awareness, participation and involvement of citizens in this complex reality.
• Explain the methodology of night recounting.
• Training volunteers in this reality.
• Theoretical foundations of Psychological well-being both personal and at work.
• Consulting and advice for the following participating municipalities, besides the capital of the Valencian Community:  Castellón, Gandía, Torrent and Elche.

Methodology: A meeting was held with each municipality to establish the preparations for the census. The training dynamic proposed was both practical and participatory. Four sessions of an hour and a half were done through the only platform Teams. 

The sessions were divided into three parts:

• The first part of the session was focused in the sensitivity of the people who had not have a job previously with people in a homeless situation;
• the second part, in specifying in what census is step-by-step; and
• the third part, in how to use the application to include homeless people in the census.

After the training all the consults and doubts both from the volunteers and municipalities were attended.

The sessions have taken place in the following municipalities and dates: 

• Castellón: 7 November
• Gandía: 24 October
• Torrent: 24 October
• Elche: 7 November
• Valencia: 24 October
