We wish all of these well in their respective careers and hope they enjoyed their time with us.
Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnical University of Valencia (UPV), with final year project 'Design and Simulation of photonic sensors based on resonant rings'. Masters in Technology, Systems and Communication Networks (UPV) with the thesis entitled "Modeling and Assessing an Energy-Aware Power-Supply Wireless Sensor Nodes for the TUHH" (Hamburg University of Technology).
Dr. Lorenzo Sanchis (Physics, Universitad de Valencia, 1998) received his PhD in Physics from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 2004. After a two years postdoc (2005 to 2007) at Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Bristol University (U.K) he joined UMDO on a JAE-DOC (CSIC) contract. His experimental and theoretical research span a range of topics all involved with the inverse design of wave scattering structures concept. For example, genetic algorithm photonic crystal devices design and acoustic lens design and invisibility. He is also interested in photonic crystal microcavities design with single photon sources applicability.
A physics graduate from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, where he undertook some research on tropospheric aerosols and Lidar systems. He was a Masters student of Universidad de Valencia and member of the UMDO, where he worked on polymeric waveguides research and recently successfully defended his thesis. In his free time, he likes to play videogames; football (goalkeeper) and enjoys reading.
To be introduced.
He is currently on a postdoc at CSIC, Madrid.
He is currently working at a spinoff of the University of Valencia.
After finishing his Master thesis, he has started his PhD at the School of Computing and Mathematics of the John Moores University (Liverpool, UK). His PhD is based on Big Data analysis.
Successfully defended his thesis in March/April 2011 based on research carried out at UMDO on the 'design, fabrication and chracterisation of photonic and plasmonic nanostructures' during the past 5 years. He is currently a research associate at Heriot-Watt University (UK).
A chemical engineering graduate who undertook a period of research with us in UMDO.
A cuban physics graduate he was a postdoc researcher (JdC) in UMDO during 3 years.
Undertook a 6 month research stay whilst undertaking his Masters in Morocco.
