Joan Lluís Vives i March
Lluís Vives (Valencia 1492 - Bruges 1540) is one of the greatest exponents of European Humanism of the 16th century. A student at the University of Valencia and other prestigious European universities of his time, part of his intellectual activity was dedicated to the systematization, analysis and organization of aid to those most in need, for which he has been considered one of the first people to devise a public social assistance service. He also stood out in the spread of humanist ideals throughout Europe and in the formation of prominent social and political personalities of his time.
The Lluís Vives Scholarships are the result of the compilation of previous scholarships with geographic criteria or more specific studies, in order to reach a greater number of countries and expand the offer of master's studies. They started in the 2015-2016 academic year looking for beneficiaries who guarantee the greatest possible degree of impact and return of the knowledge acquired by providing specialized advanced training.
