In 1998 the Ninth Sessions University-Society took place, organised by the Board of Trustees of the Universitat de València and the University-Business Foundation, during which the University-Society Awards Ceremony was held.

On this occasion the act was chaired by Eduardo Zaplana, president of the Valencian Goverment and Honorary President of the ADEIT, the UV rector Pedro Ruiz and the president of ADEIT Carlos Pascual.

Opening of the 9th University-Society Sessions with the following programme:
17:00: Opening and Award bestowing
- Welcoming speech and presentation by the Rector of the UV and speech by the President of the Board of Trustees of the UV, Excellent Mr Carlos Pascual de Miguel.
- The secretary of the Board of Trustees D. Vicente Boquera Amil, read the minutes of the plenary session of the Board of Trustees in which awards were bestowed.
- Univesity-Society Cooperation Awards Ceremony of the Board of Trustees of the UV.
- Conference by Josep Piqué i Camps, Minister of Industry and Energy.
- Speech by the President of the Valencian Government, Most Honourable Mr Eduardo Zaplana Hernández-Soro, which gives closure to this part of the Ninth Sessions Universitat-Societat.
