The Permanent Board of the ICBiBE, at its meeting on 20 September, 2007, approved the establishment of a Sabbatical Leave Research Grant for the Teaching and Research Staff (PDI) of the ICBiBE.

Features of the grant and conditions of applicants: It is established with an indefinite period, depending on budget availability, the aid up to 1500 euros for those PDIs of the ICBiBE who have been granted the Sabbatical Leave Research Grant. This grant will deliver for expenses of travel to foreign research centres in relation to the activity scheduled for the sabbatical leave, according to the application submitted to the secretary of the ICBiBE, and provided that such expenditure is duly justified and not be covered by any other grant.

Motives for this grant. With this grant the ICBiBE wants: (1) encourage the application of sabbaticals from their members, and (2) assist in the expenses arising from the scientific activities during the sabbatical leave, and sometimes only are partially covered and delay by the aid of other institutions.
