He got his Doctoral Programme in 1997 in the Department of Foundations of Economic Analysis of the UPV-EHU and, since 2003, he is tenured university professor within that Department.

Added to teaching in Llicenciatura and Grado, he has been teaching for the Master’s degree and Doctoral programme in Banking and Quantitative Finance, in the subject of Foundation of Finance Economics I and II. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at the BBV Finance School and as a visiting professor at the Department of Economics and Business of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the International School of Economic and Administrative Sciences, EICEA, at the University de la Sabana (Colombia).

His research interests have centred on the areas of financial asset valuation, evaluation of the management of Collective Investment Institutions and Microstructure of financial markets.

He participates regularly in Research Projects, both national and international, and has directed two doctoral theses and several Master’s Degree Final Projects. He also collaborates as an Editor and valuator in renowned academic journals; he is member of the Scientific Committee of Academic Congresses, both national and internatinoal.

Since 2006, he is responsible of the UPV/EHU Interuniversitary Master’s degree in Banking and Quantitative Finances.
