Presentation of the Martínez Guerricabeitia Collection

The Martínez Guerricabeitia Collection has the aim of promoting and disseminating creative activity in the area of contemporary plastic arts and increasing the artistic heritage of the Universitat de València.

Its most significant activity is the organisation of the Martínez Guerricabeitia Biennial, a call that has been celebrated since 1990, and the management of the pictorial collection donated by Jesús Martínez Guerricabeitia to the Universitat de València in 1999, transforming it in the Spanish university owning the most important collection of contemporary art. It has its own room in La Nau for its exhibition.

Martínez Guerricabeitia Collection is the denomination given from 2016 to the Martínez Guerricabeitia Trust, created in 1989 within the General Foundation of the Universitat de València thanks to the initiative of the collector and patron Jesús Martínez Guerricabeitia
