The ETSE of the University of Valencia, inaugurated in 2011 and equipped with a total useful floor area of 10,000 m2, has the following material resources:

  • Reading rooms and book depot: this modern facility has an area of ​​900 m2 and a capacity of 200 seats for reading and consult.
  • Theory classrooms: There are 40 theory classrooms, all equipped with projectors and computers for the professor.
  • Research Laboratories: 600 m2 divided into 12 research laboratories.
  • Teaching laboratories: 5800 m2 divided into 59 laboratories for teaching practice.
  • Administrative services: the Centre has 345 m2 for the office of the secretary and other administrative services.
  • Cafeteria and other services: publications, photocopying, etc.
  • Communications: the Centre has structured cabling UTP Category 5E with fiber optic backbone with capacity of 1 GB. The Campus has 3 outputs of 1GB to the internet. The entire campus has wireless connection.

The Campus also has the Eduard Boscà library, which in addition to the usual spaces in a library, has given additional space for activities with new teaching methodologies.

The accessibility criteria include: The University of Valencia has been a pioneer in the development of measures to integrate people with disabilities. UV facilities generally meet accessibility criteria for people with disabilities. The University of Valencia has a delegation for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities and a University Counseling for Students with Disabilities, which drives synergistic actions between different areas and services of the University that affect, directly or indirectly, accessibility issues, psyco-educational and academic counseling, equal opportunities, etc.. for disabled persons belonging to the university community (students, PDI and PAS). The Delegation develops various programmes to promote accessibility of the resources of the University of Valencia:

  • Physical accessibility, which is in collaboration with the Technical Unit, Maintenance Service and the Department for Infrastructure in order to eliminate architectural barriers in buildings, mainly the older ones.
  • Electronic accessibility, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-principal for ICT and the Computer Service of the University of Valencia, which has implemented the necessary measures for our website and the services provided through it, being accessible to the entire population.

The administrative management of all doctoral studies will be the responsibility of the Office of the Deputy Director of Postgraduate education and Research, in coordination with the Office of the Secretary for Students which is in charge of the management of student enrollment and issuance of certificates and degrees, and the Office of International Relations that is responsible for the administrative management of international mobility.

The funding required for the proper functioning of the programme includes, from the point of view of doctoral candidates, scholarships, mobility grants and funding for attendance at conferences and meetings.
Funding sources are essentially three types, and the Doctoral Programme Academic Comitee is committed to using every available means to fund the programme:

  • Calls are aimed at doctoral candidates themselves. In this type of calls the responsible for obtaining resources are mainly the doctoral candidates. We find numerous calls of this type:
    • National calls for mobility.
    • Call for UV mobility.
    • National calls for doctoral studies scholarships.
    • Regional calls for doctoral studies scholarships.
    • Call for doctoral studies scholarships of the UV
    • UV grants for attending international conferences.
  • Calls aimed at research groups. In this type of calls the responsible for obtaining resources are mainly the research groups that give support to the programme. We find numerous calls of this type:
    • Calls for projects of the European framework programme.
    • Calls for projects of the National plan.
    • Regional calls for research projects.
    • Projects with companies
  • Calls are aimed to Doctoral Studies programmes. In this type of calls the responsible for obtaining resources are mainly the Doctoral Studies Programme. Regarding the forecasts for obtaining external resources, project information obtained by research groups participating in the Doctoral Studies Programme, as outlined in section 6.2 of this report, ensures that the programme is able to guarantee the necessary support for the training of their doctoral candidates.

Career counseling The University of Valencia has the Professional Placement and Careers Advice Monitoring Centre (OPAL) whose primary mission is to assist the employment of all the students and graduates of the University of Valencia and improve their career possibilities. They are responsible, among other functions to coordinate the monitoring of graduate doctors.
