Doctoral studies regulated by RD778/1988 (to phase out).
The students enroled in the doctoral studies of the RD778/1988 should bear in mind that it is a doctoral programme being phased out. The last academic year in which they can enrol should be 2011-2012, so the last call of the DEA will be in October 2012.
The deadline for the defence of the Doctoral Thesis will be on 30 September 2015.
1. RESEARCH PROJECT

1B. REGULATIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF RESEARCH PROJECTS.
1) The project should be original, bibliographical projects or without experimental support are not admitted.
2) The project should have in the first page, the approval of the director and if necessary of the tutor.
3)The project should be written in published work format with the following sections: Title, Summary, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion and Bibliography. At the end of the introduction the aim of the project should be referred and at the end of the discussion the conclusions should be marked off.
4) The languages used must be the ones from the University of Valencia and also English language.
5) Published works will be admitted if the student is the first signatory.
6) In case the student is not the first signatory of the project, this will be accepted if it attaches a report by the director indicating the student’s contribution to the project.
7) The guidance MAXIMUM length should be 20 pages including figures and tables.
8) 1 copy in paper should be submitted to the Office of the Secretary of the Department of Cell Biology and an electronic version submitted to nacher@uv.es.
1C. ASSESSMENT OF RESEARCH PROJECTS
The Authorised Committee of the Doctoral Programme will appoint three reviewers for each project among the professors and collaborators of the Doctoral Programme. Each reviewer should prepare a report to be sent to the student. In the light of these reports, the Authorised Committee will mark the projects, the marks will appear in the academic record.

First call: The research projects should be submitted before 30 June 2010. The academic records of the call of June have to be in the Management Unit before 18 July 2010.
Second call. The research projects should be submitted before 10 September 2010. The academic records of the call of June have to be in the Management Unit before 25 September 2010.

3. DOCTORAL THESIS
3A. REGISTRATION
The registration to the Thesis Project can be done throughout the academic year. The form is on the website of the Students Service.
The form should be submitted in the Office of the Secretary of one of the Departments of the Doctoral Programme, attached with a doctoral thesis project with a length of 4 pages including, Title, Author, Director. Summary, Background, Goals, Methodology, Expected results and Bibliography.
The Doctoral Thesis project should be signed by the professor of the Doctoral Programme or by an external researcher and approved by the tutor of the programme. The department will appoint a tutor among the professors of the programme in the case of not having it.
Once the Thesis Project has been approved, the student should pay the fee for academic tutelage of the Doctoral Thesis. The students who have already registered a Doctoral Thesis in previous years will receive by own initiative a receipt of the Academic tutelage.
