Full time students

The length of the doctoral studies will be of a maximum of three years from the entry of the doctoral student to the programme until the presentation of the doctoral thesis.

The Academic Committee in charge of the programme will be able to authorise the extension of this lead time for another year, which could exceptionally be extended for another one year. The application form must be addressed to the Academic Committee of the Programme, be properly justified and have the approval of the thesis’s tutor and directors.

Part time students

In this case, those studies can have a maximum length of five years from the entry to the programme until the presentation of the doctoral thesis.

The Academic Committee in charge of the programme will be able to authorise the extension of this lead time for another two years, which could exceptionally be extended for another one year. The application form must be addressed to the Academic Committee of the Programme, be properly justified and have the approval of the thesis’s tutor and directors.

For the purpose of the calculation of the previous period, sick leaves, maternity leaves or leaves for any other cause provided by the current regulation will not be taken into account.

Temporary leave

Likewise, the doctoral student can ask for a temporary leave of the programme for a maximum of one year, extensible to another year. The application form must be addressed to the Academic Committee of the Programme, be properly justified and have the approval of the thesis’s tutor and directors.

Modality change

Full time students can ask the Academic Committee of the Programme to change their modality to part time, as long as they have a good reason. The application form must be addressed to the Academic Committee of the Programme, be properly justified and have the approval of the thesis’s tutor and directors.
